British singer Winehouse faces no further action from police (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) - British soul singer Amy Winehouse will face no further action in connection with her husbands alleged attempt to pervert the course of justice, police said Friday.

Blake Fielder-Civil is charged with trying to pervert the course of justice and inflicting grievous bodily harm on pub landlord James King at the Macbeth public house in Hoxton, east London, in 2006.

The 25-year-old, from Camden, north London, pleaded not guilty to both charges at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until April.

Winehouse was questioned by police in December in connection with the incident before being released on police bail to return for further questioning at a later date.

But on Friday Scotland Yard confirmed that she would no longer be required to do so.

A spokesperson for the singer said: "Amy is pleased to be discounted from the investigation and thanks the police for their professionalism in their dealings with her."
