SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Scott Porter is not a football player, but he plays one on TV.
"Some people just expect me to know a lot about the game, which I fortunately do," the "Friday Night Lights" actor told The Associated Press after picking up his Super Bowl credentials Saturday at the Phoenix Convention Center.
"I'm a huge sports fan. That's the reason I'm out here in the first place. Not everyone on the show is a big fan."
On NBC's "Friday Night Lights," Porter plays Jason Street, the star Dillon Panthers quarterback who became paralyzed in the first episode. So who does Porter think will win Sunday's game?
"I am expecting a Patriots win, and I am hoping for it," he said. "I'm a Broncos fan, so I'm an AFC guy in the first place. And I don't like the Dolphins at all, so since they're the only undefeated team at this point, I'd like the Patriots to join the ranks."
The 28-year-old actor said he partied and beat-boxed Friday night at the Taste Ultra Lounge with Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz, Warren Sapp and Kendra Wilkinson from E!'s "The Girls Next Door."
He planned to spend the rest of Saturday hitting up Super Bowl gifting suites with his girlfriend before attending Victoria's Secret and Playboy's exclusive Saturday night soirees.
