MISCHA BARTON WANTS PROBATION, JOINS GOSSIP GIRL
After finding out that she wasn't required to attend her court hearing yesterday, Mischa Barton stopped off at Whole Foods market for a few daily items and a colorful bouquet of flowers.
The former OC actress is hoping to cop a plea to charges of DUI, possession of marijuana and driving without a license - asking for probation when she's sentenced in April.
According to press reports, on Thursday, "a Beverly Hills court granted a continuance, but Barton's lawyer Anthony Salerno is confident he can secure a deal for the star before the next hearing on April 10 - an agreement which is expected to involve probation plus alcohol awareness classes."
Meanwhile, in other Mischa news, the 22-year-old is set to join the cast of Gossip Girl, reports TV Guide.
And while there's no word yet who Mischa will play on the CW drama, there are hints that she "could be considered for the role of Georgina Sparks, a scheming diva who drags Serena's skeletons out of her plaid skirt-filled closet."
