Missy Elliott cooking up new tunes (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Rap star Missy Elliott has popped up here and there in the past few years (namely, in a Doritos ad campaign), but there hasnt been much in the way of new music from her since 2005s "The Cookbook."

Now the wait is over, in the form of the new songs "Ching-a-Ling" and "Shake Your Pom Pom," which will appear on Atlantics "Step Up 2 the Streets" soundtrack (February 5) and Elliotts new album (likely due in May).

At No. 57, "Ching-a-Ling" is currently the top debut on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Elliott is hoping to reunite with producer Timbaland, who has been behind some of her biggest hits but wasnt much of a factor on "The Cookbook."
