High School Musical star Tisdale kicked "Upstairs" (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale will make her feature film debut in "They Came From Upstairs," an adventure comedy about a group of teens who defend their Maine vacation home against aliens.

Production starts at months end in Auckland, New Zealand. John Schultz ("The Honeymooners") is directing the Fox/Regency project.

Also cast are Robert Hoffman ("Step Up 2 the Streets"), Carter Jenkins ("Viva Laughlin") and Austin Butler ("Neds Declassified School Survival Guide").

Tisdale is best known for playing rich-girl Sharpay Evans in Disney Channels "High School Musical" movies. She will shoot "Upstairs" before moving on to the third installment of Disneys moneymaking phenomenon, which will mark the first theatrical release in the series.
