HEATH LEDGER AND MARY-KATE OLSEN: GOOD FRIENDS



Amid the plethora of reports regarding the death of actor Heath Ledger, it just so happens that Mary-Kate Olsen's name has been mentioned frequently. And it turns out the "Full House" actress was very close to the late "Brokeback Mountain" star.

Originally meeting over the summer of 2006 while Heath was living at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California, Olsen and Ledger became fast friends. And according to an inside source, it went beyond friendship.

"Mary-Kate and Heath were casually dating for three months before Heath's death," a source has told press. "They were hooking up, but neither were particularly interested in making it exclusive. They had a bond that was based on partying, and they had the same tastes in partying ... like, in terms of where they liked to hang out in New York, what time they would want to go out. They just had the same sensibility."

So when massage therapist Diana Wolozin arrived this past Tuesday afternoon to find an unconscious Heath, she immediately placed two calls to Olsen, frantically asking her what to do. And Mary-Kate assured her that she was sending over her "private security team." Unfortunately, it was already too late, as police have speculated that Ledger had expired a couple hours earlier, around 1pm.
